As we come to the end of another successful school year, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on what has been a truly wonderful year for our All Hallows family.
Our mission statement continues to be at the heart of everything we do. Building on our Outstanding Catholic Schools Inspection, we have continued to strengthen the spiritual life of our school, ensuring that every pupil has opportunities to grow in faith, service and leadership. It has been inspiring to see so many pupils enthusiastically leading collective worship, participating in year group assemblies and taking ownership of planning their form Masses. It was particularly special to welcome parents and carers to our Year 10 Mass on 30th June and to celebrate together as a school family.
Our Carlo Acutis Group has continued to demonstrate our commitment to caring for God’s creation through regular litter-picking in the local community. Their dedication was recognised when they were named runners-up in the Laudato Si’ Awards and we are incredibly proud of all they continue to achieve.
I would also like to congratulate our Year 11 pupils on the way they approached their GCSE examinations. The exam season is always demanding, yet they demonstrated exceptional commitment, resilience and determination throughout. We are immensely proud of everything they have achieved and wish them every success as they await their results. As they begin the next stage of their journey, we know they will carry with them the values of love, faith and sense of community they have developed during their time here at All Hallows.
Throughout the year, pupils across all year groups have benefitted from a wide range of opportunities to enrich their learning beyond the classroom. Our Year 7 and Year 11 pupils enjoyed memorable residential visits, while many others visited universities, workplaces and industry roadshows to inspire their future aspirations. Pupils have also taken part in a variety of faith-based experiences, including a recent retreat day at Loreto College, where they reflected on growth and hope by decorating plant pots and planting seeds to bring back to school.
As we reach the end of the academic year, we also say farewell to several valued members of staff.
Miss Bird, Miss Teklit and Miss Lamb have each made an enormous contribution to supporting our pupils with SEND and have enriched the life of our school in countless ways. They will be greatly missed and we thank them for all they have given to the All Hallows family.
We also wish Mr Turley every success as he begins his new role. He has been a valued member of the English department and will be greatly missed by both colleagues and pupils.
We would also like to wish Mr McNulty every success in his new role. Over the past 6 years, he has been invaluable member of the All Hallows family, serving as our Exams Officer whilst also making a significant contribution to marketing and admissions. We thank him for his commitment and wish him every happiness and success in the future.
After 11 years at All Hallows, Mr Conway will be leaving to take up his first Headship. During his time with us, he has made a significant contribution to the life of the school and to teaching and learning. We know he will lead with the same dedication and commitment that he has shown here and we wish him every success in this exciting new chapter.
This year also marks the retirement of two long-serving members of staff. Mr Goodfellow retires after 13 years at All Hallows, during which he has inspired pupils through his teaching of geography and made a lasting impact through his roles as Head of Year and leader of the Pupil Leadership Council. Mr Ehlke-West retires after 16 years of dedicated service, having taught generations of pupils’ valuable life skills in food technology whilst also providing outstanding care and guidance as a form tutor. We thank them both for their many years of service and wish them long, happy and well-deserved retirements.
As we look ahead to September, we are excited to welcome a new cohort of pupils into the All Hallows family. We look forward to another year of learning, faith, opportunity and success as we continue to grow together.
Finally, I would like to thank all of our parents, carers and families for your continued support throughout the year. Your partnership is invaluable and together we have helped our young people flourish both academically and personally.
I wish you all a happy, peaceful and restful summer break and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in September.
God bless.
Mrs Walker
